The advantages of LED-modules over the firmly fitted individual LED are also made apparent by the Siteco Streetlight10 LED street lighting series. By separating the luminaire and the module, modules for different purposes of use, such as zebra crossings and surface illumination, can be integrated into the same luminaire. This lowers manufacturing and developing costs and thus has a positive impact on the marketability of the product. Should the prerequisites change in the course of time, the luminaires can easily be retrofitted to different and more high-performance LED-modules, thanks to their modular construction. Hence, for municipalities and operators of outside facilities, Street light10 offers a highly adaptable, cost-efficient and future-oriented approach on the road to LED-street lighting.
The OSRAM Encelium lighting management system, which will be introduced in Europe at Light+Building, demonstrates impressively how up to 75% of energy in offices, industrial buildings and functional buildings such as hospitals or other public buildings can be saved. This is made possible by combining six different strategies, all of which are aimed at saving energy. Building operators are able to steer and monitor the system worldwide via the Internet, using unique software with 3D images. What is more, office workers are able to adjust light levels at their individual workplaces. When used in connection with the latest generation of OSRAM electronic control gears (in accordance with the DALI standard), the Encelium system is able to record and depict the energy consumption of the lighting in real-time. The software identifies optimization potential, in addition to allowing pin-pointed intervention. The result: more cost-efficient and flexible electricity tariffs can be used. Furthermore, by applying a specific interface, Encelium can also be incorporated into the building management system.
Lighting Science Group's PROLIFIC Series DBR and LSR4 street lights, complete with wildlife guards, were used to light of the streets of Pleasant Prairie. The DBR luminaires are compatible with smart grid services, remote monitoring capabilities, dimming, midnight dimming, and occupancy sensors; while the LSR4 fixtures offer a full cutoff optic that meets dark sky requirements.
The Company's PROLIFIC Series street lights are the perfect one-to-one replacement for HPS street lights—easy to install, high lumen output, maintenance-free operation, long-lasting, and have outstanding energy savings. The PROLIFIC Series LED technology eliminates costly re-lamping and re-ballasting of HPS street lights and direct line wiring is used in place of starters or capacitors to eliminate traditional maintenance issues.

LED street lighting is an optimal solution for municipalities across the country
known for most of the 20th Century as the Oil Capital of the World, is now leading the way with new energy efficient alternatives. Thanks to a highly successful collaboration between the City of Tulsa, U.S.-based luminaire manufacturer, Amerlux, and U.S.-based lightsource manufacturer, Bridgelux, modern, energy-efficient LED lighting are part of the restoration of Tulsa’s historic Brady district. About 200 Amerlux outdoor luminaires based on Bridgelux LED arrays are planned to illuminate the walkways around the new Driller Stadium and park. Sixty-four were installed in 2011 with the remaining street lights slated for installation this year. The new LED lighting is anticipated, in the long run, to save the City of Tulsa thousands of dollars in reduced energy and maintenance costs, compared to the conventional High Intensity Discharge (HID) streetlights used in other areas of the city.
“The collaboration between the City and its lighting manufacturer and supplier delivered a flexible, energy- and cost-efficient solution that significantly improved the quality and longevity of Tulsa’s outdoor lighting,” said Paul Strizek, planning and contracts manager for the City of Tulsa. “Together we delivered on the City’s commitment to reduce our energy use, increase sustainability and offer our citizens a better quality of light.”
Featuring industry-leading Bridgelux ES LED arrays, the Amerlux D142 and D154 Series decorative downlight allows for a variety of optical configurations, enabling the systems to be optimized for a customer's unique needs such as application requirements and light output. This helps to ensure that light levels and light quality meet the application requirements for a particular environment. Moreover, the Amerlux D142 and D154 downlights deliver large lumen packages of up to 7600 and 5000 lumens respectively, making it an ideal replacement for HID luminaires.
LED street lighting is an optimal solution for municipalities across the country, delivering immediate savings from lower energy costs and reduced maintenance costs. Further, high quality LED lighting increases the visibility and visual attraction of storefronts, restaurants and other hospitality and commercial environments, as demonstrated in the white paper published by LED Roadway Lighting.
Reporters recently learned from the Shenzhen Municipal Development and Reform Commission that Shenzhen Development and Reform Commission, Shenzhen Municipal Trade and Industry and Information Technology Commission, Shenzhen Finance Committee jointly issued the notice as “the first step plan of Shenzhen new energy industry development funds for supporting the industry in 2011”. Shenzhen Solar Semiconductor Lighting Engineering Laboratory, which was established by Spark, has been fully certified by the experts’ team. It contains a charger to store energy in a supercap
ST hopes to change that with its new STCF04 multifunction chip, which it says can control flash power up to 40W, compared to perhaps 2W for typical LED flashes today.
The key is the chip's ability to control the charging and discharging of a supercapacitor, which it uses to gradually store energy from the phone's battery and then deliver it to the LED in a short burst.
ST's chip, just 3 millimeters square, will add $2 or less to the cost of a cell phone, it said.
It contains a charger to store energy in a supercap, and a driver for an external transistor used to deliver 40 watts or more of peak power from the supercapacitor to a bank of LEDs. It also contains a temperature sensor to detect when the LEDs are in danger of overheating -- useful if they are being used as a torch rather than a flash; a light sensor for setting the exposure and flash intensity, and a driver for an auxiliary LED used either as a privacy indicator (you're on camera) or perhaps to help autofocus systems in low light.

The small size combined with powerful output allows for a previously unobtainable
LED Engin, Inc., a leader in high lumen density LED products, announces a family of metal-core printed circuit boards (MCPCBs) with integral connectors that eliminate soldering during the assembly of LED fixtures. The poke-home connectors, which accept 18-24 AWG wires, offer quick, solderless assembly of fixtures and can eliminate the need for OEMs to use sub-contractors because the work can be taken in-house.
The boards utilize a common 50mm footprint for both the LuxiGen LZC 12 die and LZP 24 die series of high flux density emitters, helping OEMs to standardize fixture designs around a single form factor. The low thermal resistance MCPCBs mean that heat is effectively conducted away from the LEDs, so that the emitters can be driven up to 1000mA / die to maximize flux density without adversely affecting operating life or reliability. The boards feature mounting holes for LuxiGen TIR lens-holder legs for easy integration with secondary optics. There are mounting-screw cutouts to facilitate easy attachment of a heatsink, further simplifying the assembly process. The boards include one connector for the LED and one for an on-board thermistor to be used with common constant current sources with thermal feedback option. Materials and components are selected to meet UL requirements.
LED Engin, based in California's Silicon Valley, specializes in ultra-bright, ultra-compact solid state lighting solutions that allow designers and engineers the freedom to create uncompromised yet energy efficient lighting experiences. Their LuxiGen(TM) Platform - an emitter and lens combination or integration module solution, delivers superior flexibility in light output, ranging from 3W to 90W, a wide spectrum of available colors including whites, multi-color and UV, and the ability to deliver upwards of 5,000 high quality lumens to a target. The small size combined with powerful output allows for a previously unobtainable freedom of design wherever high flux density, directional light is required.

Marvell introduced a wireless chip set designed to make commercial led linear lighting controlled from a single point
Additionally, like the TV and thermostat, LED bulbs are starting to become network-ready. Marvell introduced a wireless chip set designed to make commercial led linear lighting controlled from a single point.
Despite it’s a tendency that multiple lights is being able to be controlled from a tablet or smart phone for smart-home enthusiasts, the added expense of wireless networking in LED bulbs, which already cost between $15 and $40, means it may be a while before we see low-cost networked LED bulbs.
The high intelligent LED street lamp industrialization project” which was operated by SPARK was approved by the state ministry of science and technology currently, and was listed as the 2012 national torch project. It is marked that SPARK was not only becoming the leading enterprise who can supply LED high bay lamp solution project, but also consolidate the status of SPARK in semiconductor lighting industry.
The Torch Plan is a guidance plan which develops Hi-tech industry in China, approved by the State Council in August 1988, organized and implemented by Ministry of Science and Technology, and the aim is to implement the strategy of reinvigorating the country through science and education and to play the advantages and potential of our strength in Science and Technology.

the farming sector to help nurture technology application capabilities in old economy industries
Taiwan state-financed Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) has set up a partnership Tuesday among local companies to use LED technology to improve the quality and quantity of local agricultural and livestock products.According to the ITRI, it expected to draw participation of over 70 led high bay light and the farming sector to help nurture technology application capabilities in old economy industries.
Chan Yi-jen, general director of the institute's Electronics and Optoelectronic Research Laboratories, at a press conference, thought that the LED technology could help improve some agricultural applications, such as the control of lighting that would have a positive impact on animals and plants. The partnership is also expected to lead to the integration of industry and government resources, increasing the competitiveness of Taiwan's farming, fishing and livestock industries with advanced LED technologies.
Now, nearly 200 trees have their trunks wrapped in thousands of lights. After the city originally planned to keep the trees wrapped year-round, the San Antonio Conservation Society has prompted a move. However, a city forester assured them they wouldn't stay on forever.Nancy Hamner Avellar, president of the society, said "The trees will be unwrapped every three years so there should be no problems with stunting their growth."
While the society doesn't work in concert with the city in regards to the lighting project, it has brought up other concerns including the stringing of lights along the bridges over the river, many of which are historic. The lights strung along the bridges this year are temporary and rest on plastic tracks. The holiday lights will stay lit through Sunday, January 8. The city's downtown operations director Paula Stallcup said the city has had discussions with Paseo del Rio and River Walk businesses to possibly allow them to light up some of the remaining unlit trees along the river between the historic section and La Villita.

LED light strings were sold across the province
Under its Power Smart conservation program,BC Hydro, gave the new lights to Van-Dusen and business improvement associations throughout B.C., which passed them on to retailers to test drive led high bay light before they hit the market the following year. Soon the city was abuzz with talk of the beautiful new lights.
Beginning in 2003, Power Smart incentivized switching to the new lights with coupon rebates for new LED strings in exchange for any incandescent strings that were traded in. That year, more than 450,000 LED light strings were sold across the province.
Fast forward to 2011 and Mathot said Power Smart has toned down its efforts at promoting the lights, partly because 45 per cent of B.C. families have at least one LED Christmas light strand. Of those families, most own an average of about six strands each, Mathot said.
Since the group’s LED road lighting products won the bid of the Project of Three National Ministries, it has obtained the Product Certificate and China Certificate for Energy Conservation Product issued by China Quality Certification Centre (CQC), which is an official recognition to the Group’s LED road lighting products in accordance with the Law of the People's Republic of China on Product Quality.

We remain confident in nullifying the patents
Recently, Chien Fu Shieh, the Chairman of led linear high bay light sapphire substrate manufacturer Tera Xtal(4969), revealed that the company plans to establish crystal-growing and substrate plants in China. The plan will be carried out in 1Q12 at the soonest.
Shieh pointed out that LCD TV’s weak demand caused a steep drop in the prices of sapphire ingot and substrate. However, after its August revenue hit a low of NT$ 105 million, Tera Xtal managed to bounce back and increase the revenues in September and October to NT$ 110 million and NT$ 113 million, respectively. Although it is still an underperformance compared to the average monthly revenue (NT$ 250-280 million) in 1H11, it indicates signs of rebound.
The OLG Karlsruhe and the Landgericht Mannheim has confirmed that 10 of the claims against DOMINANT are not valid. As a result of the proceedings, the Federal Patent Court of Germany have also nullified 4 OSRAM intellectual property rights and the European Patent Office has revoked one. Osram has been ordered to pay court fees.
Following the ruling, Higher Regional led high bay light Karlsruhe only considered two OSRAM patents have been infringed. Dominant has filed oppositions against the validity of these patents and is pending. We remain confident in nullifying the patents.

while maintaining color consistency over the life of the product
The commercial availability of the new LMH2 LED module family, designed to speed time-to-market for high-quality LED luminaires. The barrier-breaking LMH2 is the only LED module delivering 80-lumens-per-watt system efficacy combined with CRI greater than 90. The modules feature led linear high bay light Technology, a revolutionary way to generate white light with LEDs. The modules deliver high efficiency with beautiful light characteristics and color accuracy while maintaining color consistency over the life of the product.
The compact, two-piece module allows maximum design flexibility--uniquely enabling manufacturers to incorporate their luminaire design into the thermal management system and potentially eliminating the need, and cost, of secondary thermal management. By separating the light source and power supply, Cree gives luminaire designers a broad range of options for mounting, wiring and reflector design. Optimized for more than downlights and spots, the LMH2 makes Cree TrueWhite Technology easily available in many lighting applications, including wall sconces, pendant lights, ceiling fans and many other common fixtures in residential, retail, museums, hospitality and restaurant environments.
"At Cree we uniquely understand what lighting led high bay light need to bring LED fixtures to market.
