The company claims to be the first local firm who will have both solid state lighting and led linear high bay light manufacturing technology. The SLL technology will be under MyLED Master, while the LED technology will be under LED Opto Technology.

According to MyLED group chairman Datuk Fauzi,"From now until 2014, we're putting in money to expand our SSL plant to make LED chips. We'll be leveraging on Osram Opto Semiconductor's technology to start mass production from January 2012."

MYLED Group will invest in expanding their production facility at Malacca, Malaysia to meet the growing demand for SSL, which has the potential for tremendous savings via LED lighting.

MyLED Master will export its products to markets such as India and Middle East countries in two years. The facility in led high bay light will also house R&D operations to further reduce costs.

The Urbana-based company Hughey & Phillips LLC is expanding its busniess of replacing incandescent obstruction lighting — the warning lights on towers and buildings with LED lights.

At present, the company has added a 50,000-square-foot building to its campus, giving it more than 70,000 square feet of space. The expansion creates more manufacturing, testing and office space, much of which will be dedicated to new product lines including its Horizon Series of LED lights.

Hughey & Phillips has received Federal Aviation Administration approval for its low-intensity LED light and expects to get led high bay light approval for a medium-intensity LED light by year-end. Those are two of at least five new products being developed at this time.

LED Roadway paid for the high bay light assets it acquired in a receivership sale

Halifax based LED Roadway Lighting Ltd., a private company , has acquired the innovative intellectual property of led linear high bay light Intelligence Inc. of Victoria, B.C.

According to Ken Cartmill, LED Roadway’s vice-president of business and product development, said in an interview , the acquisition of Streetlight’s wireless light management technology gives the company the ability to offer customers a full package that includes lights, lighting controls and energy monitoring systems.

Cartmill wouldn’t disclose what LED Roadway paid for the high bay light assets it acquired in a receivership sale. But he said the company, plans to maintain a presence in Victoria and will retain key Streetlight employees laid off earlier this year when the B.C. business suspended operations.

LED Roadway is responsible for almost all of the municipal conversions to LED lighting in Nova Scotia, said Cartmill. led high bay light currently provides lighting to more than 300 municipal, utility and commercial customers in 24 countries.

The order includes six CRIUS II reactors in a 55x2-inch wafer configuration and two AIX G5 HT 56x2-inch wafer configuration systems.

A local AIXTRON service team has installed and commissioned the new systems in Hualei Optoelectronics′ state-of-the-art facility in Chenzhou, China.According to Toshiba , it has completed the first stage of renewing external lighting at the Louvre, and it will continute to install the warm glow of new LED lighting in the Pyramid, the three pyramidions and the Colbert pavilion of the Louvre on December 6.

The Louvre museum recognized the value of replacing the old, high energy xenon lighting with LEDs, and selected Toshiba as its partner in this endeavor. Toshiba has delivered and installed its latest LED products and fittings. Working in close collaboration, Toshiba and the Louvre have designed the lighting to bring out the intrinsic beauty of the museum. Fittings include high beam-lamps to illuminate the Pyramid and the palace walls.

In addition, the remaining facades of the Napoleon Court will be completed in April 2012, and the courtyard will follow in 2013. Toshiba will provide a total of 3,200 LED light fittings to replace led high bay light fittings, and they will cut annual power consumption for the exterior lighting by 73%, from 392,000 to 105,000 watts.

Color consistency is a key determinant of a product’s quality and appeal in lighting applications. This consistency is not only determined by the control of chromaticity from LED to LED inside a product but from one completed product to the next.

There are two solutions were possible to obtain color consistency. One way was to mix different color bins of an LED onto a single board to achieve a certain CCT. However, this solution requires complex mathematical algorithms to ensure a balanced CCT and relies heavily on secondary optics to diffuse and assist in mixing colors. This is a valid solution but very time consuming on the manufacturing level.

Another solution is to negotiate extremely narrow binning from an LED manufacturer. This is not cost effective and may affect availability and lead times, due to yield distribution on the LED manufacturing level.

For shipments of illumination-application LEDs,it have been smooth in the past few months, especially deliveries to Japan. The company expects clear shipment growth in August, when both the backlighting and illumination demands turn strong.

Unity Opto estimated, interior LED-illumination applications have been increasingly and the falling cost has successfully stimulated demand for both interior and commercial LED applications month by month. In July, illumination-application LEDs accounted for more than 30% of Unity Opto`s revenue, while in the third quarter, such income is expected to be the company`s major revenue-growth momentum.

Steadily upgrading light-emitting efficiency, adamant anti-nuclear power sentiment, energy-saving consciousness have been stimulating stronger demand for LEDs, especially galvanized by the March quake that has motivated the Japanese to save energy,according to Unity Opto.The Taiwanese led high bay light maker began developing sales network in Japan in 2010 to see sizable returns this year.Apart from Japanese market, it’s said that Unity Opto`s board recently decided to invest another US$9 million in its plant in Yangzhou, Jiangsu Province, China to expand capacity.

Attempts to reach local union representatives for comment were unsuccessful

As a result,the jobs are being cut from a section of the plant that produces high-pressure sodium products used in led high bay light. And most of those affected are union workers, represented by the local United Steelworkers of America.

It’s said that the Philips plant, one of the Bath area’s major employers, has 380 employees, including 310 union workers.Attempts to reach local union representatives for comment were unsuccessful.

Irvine, Calif.-based US Lighting Tech has been selected as the commercial lighting provider for the University of Wisconsin at Green Bay and the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) campuses.
